Tutor Events

For all events offered sports coach UK will provide lunch and refreshments. Any dietary requirements should be noted on the request to attend. Tutors attending are expected to complete an evaluation of the event and also a claim form before they leave the day.

How to Deliver Engaging Sessions: A Guide for Developing Adults and Young People Through Sport

The resource and workshop author is David Haskins.

The Development Lead Officer is Liz Burkinshaw who is the technical lead for participation at sports coach UK.

This three hour workshop is aimed at coaches who are working with adults who are new or returning to sport as well as coaches who would like to develop the 5Cs for use with adults groups to grow and sustain adult participation.

The first component of the workshop aims for delegates include:

• List the three stages of developing, sustaining and rejoining participation and explain their main characteristics
• Explain the relevance of the 5Cs to their own coaching
• Demonstrate how to include the 5C approach to their own coaching
• Use relevant adapted planning material for longer term and session planning

The second component of the workshop explores the practical solutions to developing the 5Cs within coaching sessions.

sports coach UK are looking for tutors to deliver this exciting new workshop that is expected to be used by a variety of partners including governing bodies, county sports partnerships, higher education institutions and local authorities.

Inclusive Coaching: Disability Workshop Review

It is nearly a year since the launch of the Inclusive Coaching: Disability workshop, Sarah Cohen (sports coach UK lead) and I would like to give tutors the opportunity to come together, network and review workshop delivery and materials.
